Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the most-asked questions about our store and trade-in system.
If your question isn't addressed, please feel free to call, email, or stop by.
Also check the "When Can I Bring In My Stuff" box and the "How It Works" box on our home page.
What are your hours of operation?
Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday Noon to 4 p.m.
We accept trade-ins Monday - Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please click on "When can I trade in my stuff?" on our home page for the updated trade-in schedule.
What is your return policy for items that don’t fit?
You may bring back clothing items with the tag still attached, with the original receipt within two (2) weeks for in-store credit.
Can my children & I try on clothing at the store?
Yes, we have a fitting room available.
Do I need to make an appointment to bring things in?
No, we do not have appointments. Just bring in your quality items any time, Monday through Saturday 10a.m. to 3p.m.
We do not accept trade-ins on the day before or the days of our Quarter Sale. Quarter Sale is always the last Friday and Saturday of the month. Our store is so busy on these days, we find we are unable to process your items in a timely fashion. See the Quarter Sale page on this website for a complete listing of dates for 2010.
Do I have to wait for my items to sell?
No, we will give you IMMEDIATE cash or 15% more in store credit to purchase other items in the store.
How long does it take?
We can often get your trade in done during the time you are shopping (20 minutes to 1 hour). It depends on how many trade-ins are ahead of you. If you exceed the recommended 18 gallon bucket limit, there will be an automatic 24-hour processing time.
Is there a limit to what I can bring in?
We have a one-bucket per day limit (Sterilite 18 gallon size). Baby furniture and bulky items like crib bedding and winter coats do not count toward your limit.
Do I have to stay while my trade-in is being processed?
No, but items we do not accept must be picked up with in 24 hours or they will automatically be donated to the 25-cent sale.
What are you looking for in the clothing I bring in?
We maintain high standards for our customers. Therefore we absolutely cannot accept clothes with stains, tears, missing buttons or snaps, or that are stretched out, pilled, faded, or out of style. Please check the other pages on this website for details.
Clothing must be FRESHLY LAUNDERED and SMOKE-FREE. The volume of our business prevents us from repairing or laundering clothing.
CLOTHING THAT IS NOT FRESHLY LAUNDERED OR THAT HAS PET HAIR ON IT WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.
If your clothing has been in storage more than two weeks it must be laundered before bringing it in. Please don't waste our time and yours by bringing in items that have been in storage and not re-laundered.
Some brand names are in high demand. See the listing on the "In Demand Items" page.
What happens to the items you can’t accept?
Clothes that we have not accepted and that are DONATED to us will be available to our customers at our Quarter Sale on the last Friday and Saturday of every month.
All 25-cent items not sold are donated monthly to various charities. We make every effort to find good homes for any donated, usable items. We want everything usable to be used!
If you select the "pick up" option instead of choosing to donate the clothing we are unable to accept: YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR ITEMS WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER DROP-OFF.
ITEMS YOU WISH TO TAKE BACK, BUT ARE LEFT WITH US LONGER THAN 24 HOURS WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE DONATED TO OUR 25 CENT SALE.
How long is my credit good for?
Indefinitely. Store credit does not expire.
Do you take toys, games and puzzles?
We are currently accepting Melissa & Doug brand toys for resale. Sorry to say, the new Consumer Product Safety Information Act makes it impossible for us to re-sell most other toys, games, or puzzles unless they are brand new. That means in the box with manufacturer seals. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we must abide by the new law.
What items do you take?
The law recently enacted by Congress limits what we can legally accept for resale. Please click on the "When Can I Trade In My Stuff" box on our home page for a complete list of the items we may take.
Do you take men’s wear?
Only young mens sizes, and the clothes must be the latest fashions.
Do my clothes need to be on hangers?
No, but they do need to be freshly laundered and folded or laid out flat. Please bring them to us in a shopping bag, box, or bin. No garbage bags, please.
What if I want to bring in items from my garage sale / storage?
That is fine, but all stickers, tape, safety pins etc. need to be removed and the clothing needs to be re-laundered.
Do my clothes need to be in-season?
No, we take all seasons all year, but we do pay 10% less on off-season clothing.
Summer Clothing is in-season from February 1 through June 30.
Winter Clothing is in-season from August 1 through December 31.
All clothing is "off season" during January and July.
What is considered in season?
Summer: Shorts, sleeveless items, sandals, short outfits, and sundresses
Winter: Heavy winter items, winter coats, snow boots, Holiday wear
All year: short and long sleeve shirts, light sweaters and jackets, jeans, swimwear, and "dress-up" (including Halloween costumes)

Do you have gift certificates?
Yes.
Do you check for safety recalls?
